today here at MS, we had the pleasure to sit down with poet T.S Eliot , best known for his poem "the love song of J.Alfred Prufrock". Although our interview was brief , we did enjoy Mr.Eliot he was very excited to sit down and talk about his life and where he started.




MS: good afternoon , mr.eliot . how are you today ?


Eliot: hello, please call me tom. and im doing quite well , thank you for asking.


MS:that is very well. lets get started , where were you born ?


Eliot: I was born in St.Louis , Missouri , iam the last of six children born into the union of my parents.


MS:how did you get started in poetry or literature for that matter ?


Eliot:I began writing at the age of fourteen after reading Edward Fitzgerald's "Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam" , the poetry i wrote back then relfelcted the tone of that particular peice of writing , i eventually got rid of them. My first true start was at Harvard where i got some of my earlier works published in the school magazine , The Advocate.


MS:that must have been very exhilarating to have that happen to you , how did you feel seeing your work on print for the first time of many ?


Eliot:I felt accomplished to say the least , i try to humble myself and be as modest as possible , i do recongize my talents although. I think it was a door opening for my career , both publicly and personally.

have you ever heard of james joyce ?
I bet you have not, he may be the inspiration of many of your favorite authors today.
hailing from Ireland , James Augustine Aloysius Joyce is a writer an poet , for works such as Ulysses (1922) loosely based on his school days in Dublin and the novels A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (1916) and Finnegans Wake (1939).






before he began writing professionally, he had to make a living doing odd jobs , and living in poverty. his father was a alcoholic and his mother fell ill. he went off to paris to begin studying medicine but found the teachings to techincal to fully understand, he linger on for a few years then returning home when a telegram was sent but his father notifying him of his mother dying.


mr.joyce has had quite of life thus bringing the subjects of his books to life based on many of the experiences he had throughout his life until his death in 1941. this is what makes joyce one of the most influential writers in modernism and American literature as well.
